In response to timely requests for professional advice from existing clients, colleagues and friends the following sectors were identified as a separate market segment where DOWNSIZING skills are paramount – EMPTY NESTERS moving from larger homes to smaller homes – PEOPLE MOVING from a home to an apartment – ELDERLY PEOPLE AND PARENTS MOVING from the family home to a RETIREMENT VILLAGE where treasured belongings can be taken by them into their new surroundings.
DOWNSIZING CONSULTANCY SERVICES include advice on all interior aspects required to enhance the new environment from paint finishes, window treatments and flooring solutions, to lighting, loose furniture and accessories. Floor plans can also be prepared should this service be required.
Assistance in selecting furniture and furnishing items to keep, and recommendations for placement of these existing items into the new locations is all part of the downsizing service. These services are often integral to the existing environment in readiness for sale inspections, as well as preparing the new environment for occupancy.
Presentation boards are prepared to show our clients proposed new furniture items for their relocation, existing items which they have chosen to take with them, fabrics and finishes at the new location, and proposed new finishes and accessories. Lifestyle images of their new location are also included on the board – if our clients enjoy the outdoors, we would include images that stimulate the imagination – the above presentation board was prepared for parents downsizing from a large family home to a harbourside apartment. This couple enjoyed the beach, swimming, walking, entertaining at home, the cafe society, film and theatre, and gardening.
